What it does

Emails you when a company files its first permit in your city and trade. A company can be long established elsewhere and still be new here, and the alert says exactly that rather than claiming the company is new.

How to use it

1. Open your city and turn on entrant alerts for the trades you watch.
2. Leave it alone.
3. Read the alert when somebody new shows up.

Who it is for

Anyone who wants early warning that a new competitor has started working in their market.

Where it works

Needs contractor names, and needs enough history for a first permit to mean something. A city we have only recently started holding cannot tell a new entrant from a new record.
